Jira: What the CRAP?: The Internet

User Responsibility

As members of a democratic society you should be educated, knowledgeable and aware of the world around you.  You should be well versed on the issues of the day and how they impact you, now, and especially when you are eligible to vote.  Remember the infamous words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”  You will need to be thoughtful about from where you get your information!

The Internet

In addition to books and databases there are many quality internet sites you may use for your research and for information.  A good research paper will use a variety of sources.  And a good researcher, and an informed citizen, will use a variety of resources and will evaluate them for reliability and credibility.

Remember: Any internet site you decide to use for this project must be evaluated for reliability! You are required to use the BHS evaluation form (or the "CRAP Test") for any internet you include on your Works Cited page.

The C.R.A.P. Test

Your group will be assigned one of the following websites to evaluate.  Use your C.R.A.P. evaluation form to determine if this web site is credible and could be used for research.  Each group will share out to tell us what they think.
